World Financial Center
Located across the street from the One World Trade Center site, the World Financial Center New York is a network of offices, restaurants, and businesses. It is owned by a Toronto-based property (except for offices owned by American Express). The World Financial Center consists of four buildings called One, Two, Three, and Four World Financial Center, along with the Winter Garden Atrium and NYMEX building.
During 9/11, Three World Financial Center suffered significant damage. Currently the entire complex undergoing a $250 million upgrade, renovation, and expansion. It is an ideal tourist destination with a European-style marketplace and boutique shopping. There is waterfront dining and cuisine ranging from bakeries and coffee shops to a food truck court. There are continually occurring arts and music events on the Center’s main stage.
A calendar can be found at: www.brookfieldplaceny.com. The Winter Garden Atrium, a ten story glass-vaulted pavilion, hosts the Arts & Events Program which is a free year-round series of performances including exhibitions, music, art, and festivals.
